Lot Description:A Superb Late 19th Century Silver Gilt and Enamel Box
modelled with dual hinged lids , the former enclosing scenes of Classical architectural landscapes, the latter with exotic birds amid an iron red sky and Italian ruins, the top having a scene after Fragonard leading to a continous panel of floral sprays , with figures interspurced with gilt tendril scrolls the base with further floral sprays all on a French Ultramarine blue ground, stamped with a probably French Mark and a makers mark of A & S . Special Note these marks are so small it is remarkable that they struck at all being on the thumb mould to top lid , d 6cm -
