Lot Description:A large imperial cast and repousse gilt bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, Qianlong seven character mark and of the period, 18th century
Respectfully made in the Qianlong period of the Great Qing Dynasty', seated in Dhyanasana, the hands in Bhumisparsha mudra, four Chinese characters and three Tibetan inscriptions around the double lotus throne and a five character Tibetan inscription at the front of the throne, 'Guang De Fo, Yon Tem Gyachen' (Vast intellect),
30.5cm high -
Provenance:A Sydney private collection, passed down by descent from the parents, who were given this figure as a gift by a friend whose parents were missionaries in China in the late Qing period.
