  A superb early example with symmetrical, geometric forms enriched by deeply carved surface motifs. Some damage evident. Rich brown patina.

  Private collection, New Zealand. Provenance: Collected by Dr G Whery (George) who was a doctor at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge England. Thought to have been collected in Africa, around 1860.
