    A Qing dynasty Chinese Ivory Cribbage Board , 清代象牙雕花卉开光人物算盘
    modelled with worked in relief showing trailing vines winding through all the openings having flowers, acanthus type leaves and fine scrolling along with a single butterfly, and fitted with five of the original pegs, l 24cm Special Note rare surviving example was produced in Canton, China during the height of the 'Old China Trade' around c1850 to c1860 for export to the West. This board as being rare simply because only a small percentage of this popular export game was produced in examples like this and because it was an object that was used for keeping score and handled a lot that few of these earlier ones survived
