Lot Description:New Zealand Medal, reverse dated 1860 to 186.
(Wm Lambell, AB HMS Cordelia), impressed naming. William Lambell was born in Devon on 3 July 1834. Joined RN as a Boy 2nd class in 1851, Ordinary Seaman 1852 and served on several ships before joining the Cordelia in which he served in New Zealand and in involved with various actions and skirmishes in 1861. His medal was sent to him on 2 March 1871. BBM 29 medals to ship. With extensive research by Captain K Douglas-Morris, RN, and copy of original service record. -
