    A good mid-19thC Japanese bench-top apothecary chest
    the two folding sections with over 100 drawers, most with original labels of various medicinal herbs, entirely constructed of paulownia, two hinged sections opening to reveal the drawers, exterior circular lock plate. 840 x 215 x 645 when open.
  • Notes:
    Note: traditionally used by itinerant Japanese herbal practitioners giving medicinal cures around the Ansei period (1854).
