  Cover title: Victoria 1857 illustrated. [Melbourne : Sands & McDougall, 189-]. A photolithographic facsimile of the 1857 original, published by Sands & Kenny. 750 copies issued. Oblong quarto, original full morocco with blind-tooled and gilt ornament and lettering (mild wear at corners, overall remarkably well preserved), silk lining papers, front pastedown with Sands & McDougall bookbinder's ticket, front free endpaper and title page with roughened lower edges, title page with strips of discolouration to three margins (not affecting the engraved vignette of the Entrance to Port Phillip), 45 plates drawn by S.T. Gill and engraved by J. Tingle, printed recto only, first plate (Ballarat, looking N.W. From Mount Buninyong) with surface loss at right hand edge, otherwise all plates in fine condition.
