New endpapers. Hinges discretely reinforced. Small, neat inscription in pencil to endpaper. Wear and slight tears to original contents. Several neat annotations throughout. Previous edition printed in 1861. 'Kunst printed 'He Pukapuka Whakaatu', and letters from Bishop Pompallier, in 1863, after which date his imprint has not been noted. This work is attributed by Hocken to O C Davis; but, as against that view, it must be noted that it differs materially from the little book issued by him 1874 ; this has no exercises, but the vocabularies and sentences are fuller' - Williams.
