Middle Eastern gold and pearl necklet
Entirely handmade and comprising of an orchid motif centre piece and fluted horns, with beautiful detailed framing, the threaded light creamy seed pearls are sewn into the piece to create a wonderful texture and lustre. This necklace was likely gifted in the 1960's to its previous owner whilst posted in Iran when her husband was working on the construction of the oil refineries in Persia, Arabia and Africa. "My aunt and uncle were showered with gifts for their part in the development of the oil refineries which fuelled the expansive and rapid wealth of the Middle East, Arabia States, Iran and North African countries. We believe this necklace was a present from the Shah of Iran in 1961 or from someone in his organisation".
