Notes:This cloth depicts scenes from the Mahabharata relating the journey of Bima to the afterlife to rescue the souls of his father Pandu and stepmother Madri. Bima is accompanied by his two servants and witnesses the punishments meted out to human souls, including people being struck with steel blades (kris) falling from a tree.
