  A Japanese Engraved Brass Striking Lantern Clock (Kake-Dokei) And Case
  Circa 1840. The peony-engraved dial plate with brass chapter ring engraved with Japanese characters revolving against a pierced steel hand, with a double foliot escapement, flanked by peony engraved hinged side doors with latches, beneath a domed bell; together with a glazed panelled wooden case and bracket, the clock 21cm high; the case and bracket 33cm high.
