Lot Description:A good Japanese Meiji finely carved ivory figure of a fisherman
he stands holding his long carved ivory simulated bamboo fishing pole above his head, large woven cane hat resting on his shoulders, he wears a long flowing robe textured and coloured in parts and highlighted with a repeating mon, a fishing box and fish hang from his waist band, two woven baskets at his feet. Double character signature in red to the base. Height of figure 185, raised on an ebonised carved wood stand. -
