A fine small Japanese Meiji period lidded Satsuma box of circular form
finely detailed, the lid with figures, buildings, trees and boats with Mt Fujiama to the background, the base with an encircling band of fan and other panels incorporating various florals, gilt enrichments, raised on three square sections, tapered legs, Shimazu family crest and other marks to the base. Diameter 80. Height 44.
