  ENGLISH FLINTLOCK FULL STOCKED TRADE GUN
  50 Cal; 42" barrel secured by 2 brass bands; flat lock plate with a sml area of floral designs with the likeness of an elephant stamped in the centre of the lock; fitted with a swan necked cock & semi-detached pan; plain iron trade furniture; wear to profiles & lock markings; dark brown patina to barrel, & furniture; grey to lock & fittings; f to g. stock that has been a period replacement using West India mahogany which was also used for ship repair & furniture; gwo & cond. C.1760.

  A good example of an early trade gun.
