Lot Description:CASED PAIR OF SILVER MOUNTED QUEEN ANNE FLINTLOCK PISTOLS by WILSON
18 bore; 7" brass cannon barrels with LONDON & trophies & flags to breech; borderline engraved frame marked WILSON & struck with London proofs & RW; fitted with swan necked cocks & integral brass pans; iron t/guards with floral bouquets; g. profiles & clear markings; mellow finish to barrels & frames; grey to cocks & fittings; silver grey to t/guards; vg bulbous walnut butts with silver side plates with trophies & flags; silver helmeted escutcheons with W.H. initials & silver grotesque butt masks; both pistols identical in cond with the exception of one has a sml chip at the rhs of butt. Presented in their orig oak casing by North of Southampton; partitioned & lined in green baize showing considerable use & wear; with trade label, flask, pincer mould, barrel key & turn screw; gwo & vg cond. C.1730. -
