  ENGLISH FULL STOCKED FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL by HOLMES
  16 bore; 9" oct barrel with dovetail silver front sight, LIVERPOOL to top barrel flat & struck with Birmingham proofs; stepped lock with sunburst decoration & marked HOLMES; fitted with a swan necked cock, rain proof pan & rollers to the frizzen; iron pineapple finial t/guard engraved with floral tributes; g. profiles & clear markings; soft grey patina to all metal; g. orig stock with minor bruises & vacant silver escutcheon to wrist; all complete; gwo & cond. C.1800. Pistol has Tasmanian provenance & is from the gun room of "Somercotes", located outside of Ross Tasmania, documents supplied.
