  ENGLISH BRASS HILTED HANGER
  25" slightly curved g. blade with areas of dark staining & groove to back edge bearing the running fox figure of SAMUEL HARVEY S.H. & so marked; brass dished heart shaped counter guard quillion has been removed; cast brass grip with spiralling grooves; guard engraved 6 over 62 M. LANCASHIRE; soft untouched patina to hilt & grip; complete with correct leather scabbard, missing bottom chape. A scarce early hanger. C.1750.
