  Matau – Copper Shark Hook
  Of incredible scale with triple barb. Tightly bound cord attached to a braided trace. Nails from early whaling boats were traded heavily with Maori. A seafarer’s kinship also encouraged the exchange of rope knowledge which the innovative Maori seafarers adopted. This extremely large form would have been used to target deep-sea shark.
