• Lot Description:
  Two Chinese figural temple carvings
  one a phoenix in flight with blossom (the Empress), the other a dragon amongst cloud (the Emperor), both deeply carved and with some original red and black colouring with remnants of gilt highlighting, some losses. Length 600 and 620, height 220 and 240, mounted on contemporary wooden stands. Provenance ex. the Oppenheim Collection, Waikanae, collected in China during the Cultural Revolution, c.1960"s.
