    A provincial George III oak longcase clock by Parkinson of Lancaster, circa 1745
    with dentil detail to the hood above slender pillars, the brass face engraved Parkinson Lancaster having a Roman chapter ring, scroll spandrels and date aperture, the trunk with mahogany cross banding to the pendulum door and raised on ogee bracket feet

  • Notes:
    Made by Robert Parkinson who moved to Lancaster in 1732 after he was freed from his apprenticeship. Noted for his fine eight day movement clocks, Robert was succeeded by his son William who continued the business until his death in 1800.
