    Two Fine Magic Stone Heads, One from the Waskuk Area on the Upper Sepik River and the Other from the Middle Sepik Area of Papua New Guinea
    the double headed stone amulet is from the Kwoma People in the Waskuk area of the upper Sepik River, I saw these exact type of stone heads in the early collection in Germany published in the books "Kunst Von Sepik". The other fine Stone Head from the Middle Sepik which is deeply incised giving it a three-dimensional look.

    Collected in 1965-1966 by the Geologist Peter Austin; The Richard Kelton Collection of Oceanic & Aboriginal Art (1930? to 2019); & The Todd Barlin Collection
  • Notes:
    Part of Austin's collection was sold to the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and published in a book "New Guinea: Big Man Island" by ES Rogers, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Canada 1970.
