    Seven Very Fine Old Traditional Wealth Ornaments from New Guinea
    Including: A Pair of Fine Mourning Armbands from the remote NW Asmat (with original TB Collection tag) 34cm; A Superb Old Kina Shell Necklace from the Mendi Valley Area, Southern Highlands Province, PNG 22cm wide shell. Rare old Kina Shells sometimes had a small bit of pearl shell embedded on the front like this example which relates to the very early SOMP Kina when pearl shell was so rare in the highlands a small piece was considered very valuable and would be mounted on a wood kina shape necklace; An Important Pair of Yali Tribe Magic Bones, Central Highlands area of West Papua (size 12-14cm) The Yali people are famous for wearing the multiple bamboo belts that make them look like they are wearing an old Slinky Spring Toy. These bones were highly important to the men who kept them who said they could make a man fly or be invisible to his enemies; A Fine Old Massim Wealth Boars Tusk which is almost full circle 12cm; A Very Fine Old Conis Shell Disc Armband, Upper Sepik River Area, 11cm.
