This fine collection of old Stone Headed Clubs from different areas of Papua New Guinea, the actual stone Club Heads are from the 19th Century and some are much earlier.

Notes:Stone Clubs were made and used all over the island of New Guinea & by indigenous peoples around the world. Many of the Stone Club Heads are found buried in people's gardens that were left or lost by previous generations, they are then thought to have ancestral power, other Stone Club Heads have been in families or clans for centuries and have long oral histories attached to them. The Clubs come in several forms described as: Stone Discs, Pineapple Headed. Star Shaped, Round Shaped & Oval Tubular, there are also some variations and unique shapes. This collection I have made over 35 years by keeping the best examples I have had the chance to buy. When they are displayed on stands in a group they look like an amazing sculptural installation.
