    These beautiful sculptural spoons are used during village festivals and where a village woman, known for her hospitality and generosity, is confirmed. It is to this woman that the village chief asks to organize ceremonial meals, in which the participants are often very numerous. This ritual spoon is the property of the woman elected best cook and most hospitable in the village, this will be used to throw the rice in the air to welcome the guests. The spoon by its concave shape represents the belly sign of fertility with a head, symbol of the spirit. So, this type of spoon represents the spirit which helps its owner while guaranteeing the fertility of those under its protection. Usual objects in African art. Figurative sculpture whose anthropomorphic handle represents a naked female body in a dynamic attitude evoking a dance movement.
