Lot Description:Fijian Club
Vunikau, a 19th century club of good proportions made of traditional vesi wood (ironwood). Finely incised handle. Excellent patina reflects good age. At some point, this club was reportedly in the possession of William Henry 'Bully' Hayes (1827/1829 – 1877) a blackbirder/pirate/buchaneer in the Pacific during the 1860s and 1870s.
