Notes:Landsdowne Park near Liverpool NSW, was originally owned by Jonas Bradley (1767-1841), having been acquired by him in 1825. The sloping hill depicted leads down to Prospect Creek, which runs under the Landsdowne Bridge, built in 1833 by David Lennox (1788-1873). A toll house was also built, just past the bridge on the left hand side. It has been recorded that Martens made preliminary sketches and a watercolour of the Landsdowne Bridge, dated 2 April 1836. A larger watercolour, now in the collection of the National Library of Australia, was recorded in Marten’s account for payment (12 guineas) for pictures delivered at Sydney, on 21st April 1836, to Sir Richard Bourke, Governor of New South Wales.
