Notes:Eleonora d'Este was a Ferrarese noblewoman. She was the first daughter of Alfonso I d'Este, Duke of Ferrara and his second wife Lucrezia Borgia - as his first daughter, Alfonso named her after his mother Eleanor of Naples. Frank Stone was a painter of historical genre and portraits, born in Manchester, studied art from the age of 24, moved to London & exhibited mostly watercolours at the Royal Watercolour Society & resigned in 1847, he was an Associate Royal Academician in 1851. Both he and his son Marcus Stone, also a painter, were friends of Charles Dickens.
