Part 1, London, Published by the author, January 1837, 19 handcoloured lithographs plates, rebound in half morocco, old cloth, retaining original printed labels on both boards, new endpapers with original ink inscription 'from the author' retained and pasted to front laid down endpaper, contemporary ink inscription on front flyleaf 'James Grant Bothwell', Prospectus for 'A Synopsis...' and 'The Birds of Europe' bound in, lithographs after Elizabeth Gould, F.2271
