four page handwritten letter dated 28 January 1931 on 'The Athenaeum Pall Mall' letterhead, Addressed to Mr Johnstone (of NZ), Aldous Huxleyís discusses his 1929 short story ìThe Claxtonsî and just what might have happened to the family members. He writes 'I take it that in N.Z you don't suffer from that amazing traditional snobbery which prevents people of a certain standing in society from sending their children to the state schools' -
