    A French Heavily Embossed Bronzed Carcel Lamps
    the column depicting flowers and scroll work with key wind base. Fitted with frosted glass shade, no key. Circa 1850. Height 58cm.
  • Notes:
    Bernard Guillaume Carcel (French, 1750-1818) designed a lamp with a clockwork mechanism in the base which forced the oil up to the burner. He patented this innovation in Paris, c. 1800.
