  Peggy Purvis is considered a modern abstract artist. Her paintings are powerful aerial landscapes which have the physical presence of much contemporary art. Peggy was involved with the batik movement during the 1980’s at Utopia, her work features in prestigious book 'Utopia A Picture Story'. Peggy is related to many renowned Australian Aboriginal artists including: Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre, Glory Mills Petyarre & Anna Petyarre. Peggy's work is represented in a number of significant collections including The Austral Gallery Regional Arts Commission, St Louis, USA, The Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association Collection, The Holmes a Court Collection, AGSA, the Richard Kelton Foundation USA & numerous private collections in America, England, Japan, Singapore & Europe.
