Notes:Evelyn is from the Anmatyerre language group in Utopia & is the sister of Greeny Purvis Petyarre, another well known Utopia artist who sadly passed away in 2010. She is the niece of the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye. She typically uses acrylic paints on canvas & as an extension of her personal connection with the Bush Yam & her environment. Her artworks are bold & rich with colour, like a map filled with information and knowledge about Anmatyerre life & culture. In 2005, Evelyn was awarded first prize in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award for her entry into the general painting division.
