    Signed to base
    Modelled & cast: 1933/34 by Barbara Tribe at East Sydney Technical College. Foundry Model: 1998 used by Crawford Casting to create cast for two bronzes of The Sun Worshipper.
  • Provenance:
    Angeloro Collection - Acquired: circa 1979 from Iris Spicer who modelled for the sculpture and received it as part payment from Barbara Tribe in circa 1933.
  • Exhibited:
    Exhibited: Sept 1934 at Society of Artists (Sydney); May 1935 Women's Industrial Art Society (Sydney).
  • References:
    Illustrated: "2012 Australian Women Sculptors: Women's Work in Three Dimensions (1778 to 1940)," by David Angeloro
  • Notes:
    Model was Iris Eleanor Spicer (Mrs Sid Platt) who was also a model for Norman Lindsay, Rayner Hoff and other Sydney artists.
