Notes:Hudson was a great innovator in the early automotive industry in America and helped pioneer the introduction of dual brakes, dashboard oil-pressure and generator warning lights and the first balanced crankshaft. These innovations allowed the Hudson straight-six engine, known as the Super Six, to work at a higher rotational speed while developing more power for its size than lower-speed engines and still giving a smooth ride. The Super Six was the first engine built by Hudson, their engines initially being supplied by the Continental Motor Company. At the height of Hudson’s production in 1929, Hudson and Essex combined had produced 300,000 cars in one year, including output from factories abroad. Distributed by Dalgety and Coy Ltd, Agents, this American built Super Six is trimmed with a forest green vinyl interior with the cabin adorned by decorative silver-plated fittings featuring wonderfully cast “Pine Cone” decorations. The body is painted yellow with black running boards and is fitted with front and rear suicide doors. The previous owner Mr and Mrs Robert and Donna Ashcroft used this saloon in their Yesteryear Vintage Chauffered Vehicles business on the Gold Coast in Queensland and sold the car to Clem in about 1999. This long wheel base, floor shift model lends itself to grand occasions and family outings. The car retains the original wooden spoked wheels. An original hand book and a photocopy version of Mechanical Specifications will accompany the car. This vehicle will be sold unregistered.
