Lot Description:A Zippered Leather Writing Compendium (circa early 1940s).
with matching address and note books, the former inscribed 'In Case / Mr W. Hentschel / Athelstone. / P.O. / S. Australia' on the inside back cover. Also including a nib pen, pocket calendars for 1939 -1940 and 1942, a small Henry Bucks Melbourne notebook with cryptic annotations, an elaborately embroidered Chinese bookmark, stationery including that of Government House, Sydney, US postage stamps and a business card inscribed 'December 1942. / Johnny came / home - Bomb / Happy.' Also an Australian National Airways envelope bearing the following intriguing inscription: 'Madam [illeg.] Popoffski, / Rushan [sic] Football & / Circus Club. / Borstal'.
