  Evans, George William. Voyage à la Terre de Van Diemen, ou Description historique, géographique
  et topographique de cette île par G.W. Evans, Arpenteur Général de la Colonie. Traduit de l’Anglais, avec une Carte et la Vue d’Hobart-Town. Octavo, with folding lithographed frontispiece view of Hobart and a large folding handcoloured map, uncut in the original plain wrappers (front wrapper and half-title gone), preserved in a folding cloth bookform box. Paris, Les Annales des Voyages, 1823. The scarce first French edition of Evans’s account of Van Diemen’s Land. This French translation is prized for the finely handcoloured re-engraved version of Evans’s separately-issued map which was published to accompany his book.
