Embellished by a correct view of Hobart Octavo, with folding engraved frontispiece view of Hobart Town by the author, contemporary half calf, the Bremer copy with bookplate.     First edition of the first separate description of Van Diemen’s Land. The text of this book, which has always been highly regarded, was prepared as a guidebook for Governor Macquarie during his tour of Van Diemen’s Land and is the best description of the geography, history, and state of the colony in the first decades of its existence.
