  An Australian ‘Lightening Ridge’ fire opal pendant
  in a handmade 18ct gold mount set with 65 diamonds. The oval opal, with a good play of colour including strong orange-yellow broad flash-fire with background colours of blue, green and red, is framed by yellow and white gold interlaced ‘ribbons’ set with diamonds, and surmounted by a coronet with three diamonds at the points. Opal reported weight 13.88ct. (Gem Lab 2012 insurance replacement valuation $40,000).
