    The Lwalwa people is a small ethnic group from Belgian Congo. This mask exhibits a typical cubistic design for which the Lwalwa are renowned. As William Rubin has remarked, ëLwalwa masks bear an affinity with the dramatic profiles and sculptural solidity of Pablo Picassoís busts of the 1930s'
