Lot Description:A Burmese Gilt & Lacquer Peacock Throne, Elaborately Carved in Teak & other Wood, 20th Century
influenced by British India with the high back & central peacock with the train fully fanned, the arms with scroll ends & spindles, the front legs turned with a ball, a shaped apron, the solid seat below a plain panel

Notes:Teak is native to Myanmar & the peafowl is one of the national animals of Myanmar. The dancing peacock was a motif of the Burmese monarch & symbolises dignity & beauty.
