    An Carved Ancestral Head, Aitchen Island, North East Malekula, Vanuatu, Early 20th Century
    carved wood, boar's tusk, pandanus, spider's web and beaded seeds, on custon stand, according to D. C. Wilkins, formerley of the British Colonial Service in Vanuatu (New Hebrides) based in Malekula this piece may have been the top of a house post or the head of an ancestor figure normally placed in the roof of the hut with the skulls over-modelled with mud and other effigies.
