a steel pestle passes through the cover & locks the mortar together, a circular grip at the upper extreme, cast with horizontal & vertical ribs.

Notes:Used to break up the coral to extract the lime & grind the betel nut for chewing Condition: Very good, no repairs, surface marks consistent with age wear, good natural patina.
