    Chinese Qing Dynasty Red Silk Wedding Collar, c.1875
    each panel embroidered floral and individual motifs including dragons, phoenix, seated figure and figure in pagoda, in tones of blue, green, pink and black, with silver thread and black trim, mounted on board, 66.5cm x 66cm Catalogue Note: Red was considered to be a very auspicious colour and this collar would have been worn for a special celebration. Very few collars have survived as they were often cut up in the 19th Century and sold as separate sections
