Notes:1952, Jean-Baptiste Clésinger moved to Rome, where he frequented Bertel Thorvaldsen's studio. Inspired by Thorvaldsen's attractive combinations of Neoclassical style with Romantic subject-matter. Clésinger executed the original marble Zingara in 1857.
