    West Australian Jarrah Wool Spinning Wheel
    By George Wright Snr. Probably dates late 1970's early 1980's, stamped with his makers monogram GWW,and numbered 606. With a modern Welsh wool spinners chair. Height: 103cm (wheel) (2)
  • Notes:
    The first of these wheels were made by Mr. George Wright, in Perth, during the first World War. Used by farmers wives to spin their fleeces for wool, to knit socks and balaclavas for the troops. When WWII stared, his son, also George Wright, continued to make the wheels, producing garments for the Army. Each jarrah wheel is individually numbered
