    A Large Rare Zushi Shrine, Eight Attendants below the Seated Deity, Japan, Edo Period [1603-1868]
    the black lacquer case with a gilt interior fitted with chairs & platforms & two Deity sitting side by side, two guardians then another two protectors with four Kannon each with a halo, standing, looking away from the exalted throne, with tendrils & bells hanging from the domed ceiling with engraved metal fittings.

    Acquired in Japan in the 1990s from a private collector
  • Notes:
    Condition: Evidence of incense smoke patination, in good condition with minor chips to lacquer.
