• Notes:
  The Sangro Series was painted in 1963 as a tribute to Ralph's older brother Jack who died on the ridge above the Sangro River, Xmas 1943. He was fighting with the Maori Battalion. This series was included in the Hotere Exhibition held at the Middlesbrough Gallery in Yorkshire, March 1964. This work has undergone extensive restoration.
