    A Des Baker finely scrimshawed whale’s tooth decorated with a Maori chief and arrival scene
    the chief depicted with moko, huia feathers and cloak with wide tuniko border, stained colour highlights, entitled ‘Te Hau Takiri Wharepapa’, the reverse with Maori warriors siting an anchored ship. Length of tooth 170, raised on carved spike stand and turned wooden base.
