Lot Description:DIE PROOF: Australia 1948 von Mueller die proof
in the issued colour recessed in presentation mount ACSC #273DP(1) with boxed CBA Note Printing Branch h/s on the reverse endorsed " 89 /5.10.48", stained on the reverse of the mount but the proof itself is pristine, Cat $3500. -
Notes:[The ACSC states that 8 die proofs were produced, one of which is in the Royal Collection. Number 89 was presented to the Governor-General Sir William McKell]. Also, a registered First Day Cover bearing 2 imprint blks. of 4 of the issued stamp, with "VICTORIA MARKETS No.1 - MELB" cds's.
