Lot Description:VAN DIEMEN'S LAND CONVICT PARDON: for WILLIAM OSBORNE, November 1849
signed by Lieutenant-Governor (later Governor General) William Denison. -
Notes:William Osborne, convicted at Kent Quarter Sessions in 1840; transported the same year aboard the "Asia 1" with a sentence of 15 years, is granted a pardon "upon the condition that he shall not return to or be found within the United Kingdom or Great Britain and Ireland".
